Meet The Team
Susan Hughes,
Executive Director
Welcome to our website.
This site, along with our more central location in New Liskeard, is a part of our plan to help people help themselves.
The Literacy Council of South Temiskaming has been at work in the area since 1990 and it has been my privilege to work here for many years now. I have strived to support, assist and encourage literacy for all our area residents.
The need for individuals to take charge of their own education is greater than ever and I feel confident that we can continue to make a positive difference in our community.

Christopher stared his LBS career at the Literacy Council of South Temiskaming in 2017.

Christopher really enjoys helping people improve their lives through learning. In his spare time, he enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors with his family.

Our Board of Directors
The council is currently made up of 5 Directors, including an Executive. Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month via Zoom. For more information, please contact the office at (705) 647-4040.
​
Our Board is elected by our general membership at our Annual General Meeting, held in the fall of each year. All members of the Literacy Council are eligible to nominate and vote for Directors.
