Hilda Fowke Memorial Spelling Bee 2012
The 2012 Bee was our most successful fundraiser to date! Thank you to all the volunteers and participants who helped us! The 2012 winning team was Beewitched consisting of Amanda Mongeon, Lindalee Roberts, and Dawn Olson.
The most pledges was a tie. The two teams were: the Unspellables consisting of Amber Elliot, Jessica Visser, and Margot Ford and the Spell-R-NOTS with Alyssa Wink, Julia Hutnick, and Erika Jocobson. The Cheering section winning team was the TD Spell Chequers.
The 2013 Spelling Bee will be held on September 26 at Riverside Place again. You can book in your team at any time. Call us at 705 672-4232.
Hilda Fowke Memorial Spelling Bee 2011
On September 29, 2011, the Literacy Council of South Temiskaming hosted their 14th annual Spelling Bee and Dinner. The Bee was held at Riverside Place in New Liskeard.

We are offering a free ongoing computer based course called Essential Skills for Employment. The student works at their own pace through a series of seven workbooks that examines today’s trends in various occupations and teaches students what requirements and skills are needed for them to be a successful job seeker. All students will create a cover letter and resume which they will use to apply for jobs. An instructor is onsite to assist the students with the books and the resume.
The class runs each Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00-12:00. Call 705 672-4232 to register.
